Underline the correct answer
a. A human being
b. An angel
c. Both previous answers are correct
Did you know Satan was an angel?
Yes, in fact he wasn’t just any angel. He was a very powerful angel of God called «Lucifer,» which means «light-bringer!’
Lucifer was the top angel in heaven. But one day he allowed himself to be overcome by pride and thought, «Why can’t I be like God?»
Since he saw that was impossible because God was the Creator and he had been created by God, he began criticizing God and accusing Him before other angels of being unfair, unkind, and a tyrant.
A third of the angels in heaven believed what they were told by Lucifer, who ever since then was called Satan, which means «adversary, enemy, accuser.» Then there was a great war in heaven and Satan and his angels were thrown out of heaven.
Since then, Satan conquered the earth and he’s the one who governs it through pride, hatred and lies. That’s why there are wars, illness, pain, and death.
Even though Satan knows he’s wrong, he doesn’t want to admit it, and” that’s why he tries to get other created beings to disobey God.
God would’ve destroyed Satan, but He didn’t do it because in that war it’s not about showing who has the most power, which we all know is God, but rather who is the best, who is right, because Satan cast doubt on God’s character before the entire universe. Do you know how God solved the problem? By sending
Jesus, His Son, to earth. Jesus’s life and death proved to the universe that Satan is wrong, that God is not unfair, because God is love.
In your Prayer Journal, ask Jesus to help you always trust in His love for you.
