Do you like puzzles and riddles?
Well, in the Bible you can also find puzzles and riddles.
Do you know Samson’s story? I’m sure you do. Samson was a very daring and strong young man.
One day, on the way to his girlfriend’s house, a lion attacked him by surprise, and Samson defeated the lion with the strength that God had granted him.
Days Water, he went through the same path and was surprised to see that some bees had built a honeycomb inside the lion.
Then he took some honey to eat along the way. At that moment, it occurred to him to tell the following riddle to the guests at his wedding:
“Out of the one who eats came something to eat; out of the strong came something sweet.”
The guests, who were Philistines, took seven days to figure out the answer.
How did they guess it? They did so by asking Samson‘s girlfriend, who was also a Philistine, to ask Samson.
That woman insisted so much that Samson finally told her the solution.
In other words, he told her that he was referring to the lion that he had kitted on the road and the honey that came out of it.
Have you ever told something to someone you thought was going to keep your secret, but didn’t?
That often happened to Samson and always got him into trouble.
Learn to distinguish true friends from those who seek their own well-being and then get you into trouble.
Read Samson’s story so you can distinguish good friends from bad ones and not make the same mistakes he did.
And remember that Jesus is the best Friend of all—He will never let you down.
Make up a riddle today in your Prayer Journal and tell it to your friends.
