Do you have faith? Do you know what faith is?
The Bible says that having faith is having full assurance that we’ll receive what we are expecting; it’s being convinced that things we can’t see are real.
And where does faith come from? The apostle Paul says faith is a gift from God and that people come to trust God when they hear the message of Jesus. So faith grows every day, as we study God’s Word and the life of Jesus.
If you really believe that what God says in the Bible is true, then you have faith in God and His Word. Faith is not trusting in «something,» but rather trusting in «someone.» So having faith is knowing that Jesus says is true; in other words, it is trusting in Jesus.
One day the apostles asked Jesus, «Make us trust more in God’s power.” Jesus answered, «If your faith is as big as a mustard seed, then you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Dig yourself up and plant yourself in the sea!’ And the tree will obey you» (you can find His answer in Luke 17:6, ICB).
Have you ever seen a mustard seed? It’s round and very tiny, but grows very fast until it becomes a huge plant, whose fruit has many medicinal and nutritious purposes.
If you really believe in Jesus and trust in Him, your faith will be powerful as that tiny seed. Faith isn’t something you can hide. Instead, it benefits everyone who notices it. Share your faith (your trust) in Jesus today, and it will grow as tall and as fast as a mustard seed.
In your Prayer Journal, make a list of friends or other people with whom you would like to share your faith with others today, and pray for them
