«Cry out for discernment, and lift up your voice for understanding» (Proverbs 2:3).
THE WORD «INTELLIGENCE» comes from two Latin roots: intus meaning «between,» and legere meaning «to choose.» So, etymologically, whoever is intelligent «knows how to choose,» among several alternatives, the most convenient in order to solve a problem or make a decision; choosing the best option among several possibilities.
When God created us, He endowed us with intelligence, a gift that if We develop will take us through life assertively. Therefore, intelligence ism only for a particular group. The belief that men are smarter than women, unfortunately popular and accepted by many, is wrong. Don’t believe it, otherwise you will undermine yourself by proclaiming loud and clear that you «cannot» fulfill certain intellectual challenges.
If there was any difference between the intelligence of the man and the women’s, it would have to do with the kind of intelligence that we have, not having it or not. Scientific research suggests that in males, rational intelligence predominates, while in women, emotional intelligence predominates. In other words, we are both intelligent, each in his or her own way
To know how to choose, make decisions, and to resolve situations is the ultimate expression of intelligence. To do this, you need to develop your emotional, intellectual, and spiritual faculties. In the Word of God, discernment is synonymous of intelligence.
When I was a child, I often saw my father use a sieve, which is a handcrafted tool to separate the straw from the wheat grain. The straw was blown away by the wind, while the clean grain went to the barn, and then became our precious food.
Do you really want to be intelligent? Train yourself by reading the Bible. This will derive your ability to discern between good and evil, between the pure and the unclean, between the holy and the profane. Intelligence is practiced when you develop self-awareness, which is the ability to «realize» and analyze everything you get from the outside, to remain with what’s in harmony with the values of the gospel.
Today, before you begin your activities, ask the Lord for wisdom to make decisions that might honor Him and fit your life for heaven. The Lord says, «My son [my daughter], do not forget my law, but let your heart keep my commands; for length of days and long life and peace they will add to you» (Proverbs 3: l, 2).
