“Fear not, for lam with you; I will bring your descendants from the east,
and gather you from the west”
(Isaiah 43:5).
After living in the U. S. for a year, arrangements were made for my daughters to come live with me. However, the legal red tape slowed down the process. Today’s Bible verse was my hope. Are you hoping for your family to be reunited? Are you facing a separation due to immigration difficulties? Do you live or work far from your family? Claim this promise.
Isaiah chapter 42 finishes with a description of God’s sorrow because of the spiritual decadence of His people. Chapter 43 is a letter full of love and grace written to those who would leave the evil path. ‘When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you. Since you were precious in My sight, you havebeen honored, and I have loved you; therefore, I will give men for you, and people for your life” (verses 2, 4). The company of someone who is powerful is what a person who is afraid longs for the most. You can be sure that God is taking care of you. He did not promise that there would be no difficulties or afflictions, but He promises comfort, His company, and their liberation in the end.
‘The people of God will not be free from suffering; but while persecuted and distressed, while they endure privation and suffer for want of food, they will not be left to perish…. He who numbers the hairs of their head will care for them, and in time of famine they shall be satisfied. While the wicked are dying from hunger and pestilence, angels will shield the righteous and supply their wants.”—7be Great Controversy, ch. 39, p. 629.
Many people heard what the prophet offered them, and they accepted God’s love and compassion. Won’t you accept God’s offer too?
Through all our trials we have a never-failing Helper. He does not leave us alone to struggle with temptation, to battle with evil, and be finally crushed with burdens and sorrow. Though now He is hidden from mortal sight, the ear of faith can hear His voice saying, Fear not; I am with you. I know your tears; Ialso have wept. Thegriefs that lie too deep to be breathed into any human ear, I know.
Think not that you are desolate and forsaken. Though your pain touch no responsive chord in any heart on earth, look unto Me, and live.” — The Desire of Ages, ch 32, p. 483.
