“My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning I will direct it to You, and I will look up” (Psalm 5:3)
AFTER GIVING BIRTH, it is the mother who usually becomes the principal caregiver of a child; from her, the baby receives his or her first experiences in their surroundings. lt is through the mother that the baby begins to know himself or herself, other people, and whatever is around.
According to Dr. Drescher, who wrote from a Christian viewpoint, the following are the basic needs of children: safety, acceptance, love, praise, and discipline. In order to provide them, the mother needs time, self-denial, patience, self-control and very often, sacrifice of personal projects to give priority to the requirements of her child that she loves unconditionally.
Undoubtedly, the first years of life, your child depends on the mother. In order to fulfill this task, you need abilities that are more than human. To get them you must depend on God. This means having a continuous and permanent connection with Him and putting your ohm preferences and human skills in a second place.
Total dependence on God is what prepares you to give to your children the same type of attention and care that God gives you. Motherhood is so demanding that your strength is likely to wane, your impatience will overwhelm you, to the point of regretting having a child. Relying on Clod is a process; it is built day by day with determined intention. Just as your little child calls you and runs looking for you when he or she feels lost or insecure; you must call God and run to Him so He can give you the security you need.
Dear friend, if you are a mother, and you feel insecure, God will make you strong. If negative emotions prevail in your chores as a mother, giving you a sense of failure and incompetence, seek strength in God. He will give you victory over your moods; you will be able to get rid of self-sufficiency, pride, victimization, and the spirit of cowardice.
Make reading the Word of God a pan of your daily routine. If depression preys your mood, take time out from your chores, kneel humbly, and cry out for help. Memorize some of the promises that bring you comfort; repeat them until your mind processes them and until you feel peacefully relaxed.
Then, get up and continue your task. Don’t walk alone!
