Underline the correct answer
a. To get up from their beds
b. To go back to sleep quickly
c. To sleep a lot
Do you like sleeping?
Maybe if you’re a sleepyhead you might sleep more than ten hours, but I’m sure you don’t sleep over twelve hours, right?
Well, there are animals that get very little sleep, like giraffes, which can sleep as little as seven minutes a day, white others sleep more than twelve hours, like cats, hamsters, squirrels . .. Some animals, like sloths, can sleep over twenty hours. But the sleepiest animal of all is the koala, which can sleep up to twenty-two hours a day or more; so it only has two hours left to eat and wash itself.
Jesus wants us to get enough hours of sleep so we can regain our strength and be ready to go to school or do different activities during the day. However, He doesn’t like it when we’re lazy and spend all day lying around without doing anything or helping anyone.
That’s why He encourages us to learn mom the ant, which isn’t lazy at all, but hard-working.
Look at what Solomon says in Proverbs 6:6-8, ”Take a lesson from the ants, you lazybones. Learn from their ways and become wise! Though they have no prince or governor or ruler to make them work, they labor hard all summer, gathering food for the winter.»
Do you do your homework and help your parents without being asked* If so, congratulations! If not, how about you learn from the ants and try it out today?
I’m sure you’ll surprise your parents or teachers and they’ll reward you for it. Come on, you can do it! Ask Jesus for help in your Prayer Journal.
