“Clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart” (2 Corinthians 3:3).
We have toured to numerous towns and cities with the Musicap choir (from the Adventist University of del Plata, Argentina) sharing the message of hope through music and also promoting the University in several countries. The people always welcome us in a very loving way. The churches very hospitably provide us with a place to rest and something to eat, and we feel God is blessing us very much in doing this work that we enjoy so much.
We have the opportunity to meet many church members and share experiences with them that encourage us and unite us in the faith despite the different places we come from.
Music has the power to touch hearts with its messages, and in four minutes that take hours of rehearsal, we see how the Holy Spirit moves the lives of people in a way we could never do.
Since many people are preparing the meal during the concerts and do not enjoy our presentations, we have a habit of singing a couple of songs for them afterwards.
There is one we always sing, without exception. It is an a cappella song composed by Denny Luz, our director. The lyrics lead us to reflect on how different things would be with Christ, how much we would have to share, and how much others would notice that He lives in us. «There would be no offenses or lies. There would only be love, » says one part. It also talks about how the Holy Spirit is the One who transforms our being and, through His power, can change your life, as well. It has a very sweet and solemn melody and is brief, so it is ideal for those occasions.
We have sung it in squares, cathedrals, shopping centers, and restaurants full of people, in hospital rooms and in any corner where we can crowd together a little.
Surely you can get together in your church or with your group of friends some afternoon and go out and share music in places like these. People never expect it and the surprise factor plays very much in your favor.
We have a powerful tool for preaching and, with our lives as living letters, we can present a message from God to the world.
