What are your friends like? Are they happy or sad?
With which of them do you like spending more time, the happy ones or the sad ones?
We all like to be around friends with whom we can’t stop laughing, don’t we? It’s not very fun to be around sad and depressed people.
Happy friends always see the positive side of things. When things get hard, those friends help us smile in spite of our hardships or problems.
What kind of friend are you: happy or depressed?
If you’re a person who trusts in Jesus, I’m sure you feel the joy of the Lord and see the positive side of things. Why? That’s because you know that despite the problems and hardships, the Lord will solve everything.
When you smile in spite of hardships, it’s because you feel the joy of the Lord in your heart.
Don’t let anyone or anything take the joy of the Lord away from you! Jesus is your Savior, He’s always by your side, and He’s like a shelter on a mountain. When it snows or rains on a mountain, people go to a shelter to protect themselves. Even if there’s a strong storm outside, inside the shelter you can’t really tell—you don’t even feel cold.
In the same way, you can enjoy the happiness or joy of the Lord in the middle of difficulties. In that shelter, you’ll never feel sad and everything will seem better.
If you still don’t have the joy of the Lord in your heart, ask Jesus to help you so no one will steal your joy. Write your request in your Prayer Journal.
