IN THE FIELD OF PSYCHOLOGY, the inferiority complex is known as the loss of personal value, self-esteem, appreciation for oneself that’s presented with deep feelings of failure, discouragement, apathy, and displeasure for what we are, besides the scorn of life. People who suffer from an inferiority complex are constantly comparing themselves with others and reaching the conclusion, time after time, that they are not at the level of those they compare themselves to. They feel inferior; unable to do what, in their opinion,others can do.
This condition of loss of self-love and feeling of helplessness began with the entrance of sin into the world; ever since, this unworthiness has been present in the human race.We try unsuccessfully to recover the gift of self-worth with human strategies that, by any reckoning, have turned out to be ineffective since this complex is more and more common.
The search for personal value is something internal. There are those who believe, it’s possible to attain it with will power, through astrological forces,or enjoying unrestricted pleasures. However, neither these nor any other human formula can recover the identity or personal value. Despite the endless recommendations that exist, the epidemic of the inferiority complex continues to invade the human heart,especially, that of the woman.
In the inferiority complex state, we are all both victims and accomplices. Children Grow up feeling underrated by their parents because they feel that they don’t measure upto what’s expected of them; at the same time, thosevery children belittle other children.Young people become individuals of value by imitating stereotypes that marketing extols models to follow, however, it’s impossible to attain them because they are not real.Adults try to feel valued by buying and possessing material goods; nevertheless, when we realize that they are short-lived, we already feel we are too trapped in the crazy race of consumerism that finally drains out our life forces.
The solution, though simple and brilliant, is scorned by many.The solution is in heaven, not in the stars. It’s in the Creator of the universe who made you with a purpose,with meaning, with essence. After all, we were created in the likeness of God.
Always remember that the Lord tells you with every step you take and regardless of the circumstances, «I have called you by your name; You are Mine» (Isaiah 43: l). Doesn’t This confer you the highest personal value to which you could aspire?
