MAKE MY DREAMS COME TRUE!
«The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who wins souls is wise» (Proverbs 11:30).
00The auditorium was packed with those who wanted to listen to the speaker. The man was a famous celebrity from the soccer world. It was Jorge Valdano, former soccer player and former technical director of Real Madrid. I looked at him very attentively as he spoke, as complete owner of the stage. Then he said a few words that penetrated deep into my heart: «A young man cannot afford not to dream. Dreams are the beginning of big projects.» What words! He then began to tell us how he had dreamed that one day he would raise the FIFA Cup and be proclaimed world champion.
And so it happened in the final of the World Cup held in Mexico in 1986.From that day on I decided to make those words of my own and share them in the various places where I have been invited to preach. True, a young man cannot afford not to dream. So it’s time to dream! Now I ask you, what’s your dream? To attend a good university, or marry an excellent person, or buy the car you crave so much? Perhaps you dream of occupying a great responsibility in the service of your country.
How wonderful! At no time should we bury our dreams.Now, for a young Christian the reality is much more attractive. Today’s verse says a great truth: God fulfills our dreams! I even think that it is He who fills us with dreams so that we can pursue our goals. However, there is one condition: love the Lord with tenderness.
I really like the words of Psalm 37:4: «Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.» The fundamental thing in this life is to strengthen a genuine relationship with the heavenly Father and enjoy it. Everything else will come in addition (Matthew 6:33).
Therefore, youth is the ideal time to learn to enjoy a solid relationship with God. So the Lord will help us to dream of a promising future and achieve the goals that we have set.Don’t be frustrated when you look at your shortcomings and few opportunities.
There is nothing that God cannot transform. It’s time to dream next to the heavenly Father! He will fulfill your dreams!This morning plead with the Lord: «Help me to delight in Your Word, in Your promises, in Your gospel; teach me to be happy in the midst of Your presence; and fulfill the deep yearnings of my heart!»
