“The Lord your God Himself fights for you” (Deuteronomy 3:22)
“PLEASE HELP ME with these bags” the stranger said with authority. At her side was Josselin Euceda, visiting in the jail where her husband was. Josselin was carrying her little girl in her arms, so her first answer was a simple “no”: however, that woman did not accepted “no” as an answer.
Thus, after much insistence, Josselin made the mistake of agreeing and picking up the bag without knowing what it contained.
When she got to the security point, the policeman who searched her found that bag highly suspicious, He ripped it open and what was inside was left expose: it was filled with marijuana. Josselin’s world fell apart.
“What is this?” the policeman wanted to know.
“It’s not mine,” Josselin managed to say, nervous and weeping. “I swear to you that that bag is not mine: someone asked me to help her carry it and I simply helped her.”
“That bag is not hers!” suddenly shouted a woman who was observing the scene. “I saw how that girl gave it to her,” and she herself immediately went to find the young woman who had given the bag to my friend Josselin.
The situation was incredible in itself. Who would agree to bring packages from complete strangers into jail? Who defends someone in a prison environment, where the rule is “every man for himself”? But still a third incredible experience took place.
“Get out of here before the colonel comes,” the police officer furtively whispered in Josselin’s ear.
She understood, and left immediately. However, she was able to see how the incident ended. When the colonel arrived, he asked, “Whose bag is this?”
“It’s hers,” replied the policeman, pointing right at the true culprit.
All others present remained silent. Josselin found our that the fate of that young woman was a drug trafficking charge, and the jail. God found Josselin’s battle. She knows that it was divine intervention.
Dear friend, God fights our battles. He id watching over what happens to us and wants everything, good and bad, to be for our spiritual growth and to increase our faith.
