«For the LORD gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding» (Proverbs 2:6).
Do you have problems at school? Do you have trouble understanding math, bi010B’, physics, or grammar? If this is your case, welcome to the club of the ones who once had this kind of difficulty with these classes.
When I was in high school, the classes seemed boring, a snooze fest, and complicated. For some reason, teachers were not enthusiastic with the knowledge, so we learned to see extremely important subjects—as in the case of mathematics— as irrelevant courses. In those years, I preferred to talk to the girls, play basketball, and spend time with my friends. The problem came when I entered college, as things got harder. Now there were more requirements and I no longer knew what to do.
During those years I felt that God was calling me in a special way. So I started to devote time to prayer. In particular, I asked the Lord to help me understand some of my school subjects, and I begged Him to change my attitude toward my studies. I also began a program to study the Bible every day. Believe it or not, even though I was born with the gospel, I had never read the Scriptures completely; I knew certain texts, but I had not stopped to reflect on them. But from those moments of prayer and Bible study, my life began to change, particularly at school! Gradually, I began to understand the classes that I disliked so much. As a result, I acquired the habit of reading, which has brought so many blessings into my life.
School became my great delight. Studying became one of the most enjoyable moments for me. And as the years have passed, I have spent my life among texts, teachers, schools, and academic activities. However, I cannot forget that it all began when prayer and reading of the Bible became part of my everyday habits.
Do you have low grades in school? Do you not understand a certain class? Are you a student who is «behind» in class? Don’t feel bad; at one time I was also in your shoes. Therefore, I encourage you to kneel before the Lord today and tell Him what is happening in your life. Express your feelings. He will understand you and give you solutions. And if you add Bible reading to your everyday activities, you’ll soon see results.
