I CHOSE THE WRONG DOOR
«There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death» (Proverbs 16:25).

A few years ago I went through an uncomfortable situation at the Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris (France). I was about to take a flight to Mexico City when, in the midst of a mix-up, I went down a wrong hallway that took me to a boarding gate that wasn’t mine. When he looked at my ticket, the agent informed me that I was mistaken. The worst of it was that it was too late to board. Suddenly I fell into despair and began to imagine what would happen if I missed the plane. Why was this happening to me! I started running through the hallways of the air terminal with a prayer on my lips. Finally, after going up and down stairs and passing through several security checkpoints, I got to the right place. Miraculously, the flight had mysteriously been delayed several minutes. I knew the Lord had responded to my prayer. As I took my place in the airplane, I thanked God for having mercy on me.
I don’t think it’s the first time I’ve been wrong. In reality, there have been a lot of times. As in the case of what happened in Paris, on several occasions I have not even realized that I made a mistake and someone else has had to show me the sad reality. However, thanks to that, I have been able to get rid of several difficulties which seemed inevitable and would have seriously affected me if I had not made a firm decision.
It is very probable that you have also chosen the wrong boarding gate and then realized that you have lost great opportunities. Maybe one day someone came to you to tell you that you were wrong, and you had to correct your course. Did you follow the indications or discard the warnings? Perhaps today you suffer the consequences of not having heeded the warnings.
Today’s promise is that God shows us our mistakes. He warns us when we go the wrong way, or when we are in front of a false door. The Lord has various ways Of pointing out that we must change our course. However, we are the only ones who can make the decision to make the changes. If today you feel confused or unsure about the mazes of life, it is time to invite the Lord to indicate the right way.
