THE MARRIAGE SUPPER OF THE LAMP
AIDEÉ WENT UP the center aisle of the church with her long, braided white hair. Standing straight in spite of her age, Aideé’s face shone, and with a voice as steady as an arrow, she took the microphone and told the church with deep conviction: «l dreamed that the Lord told me to ‘tell My people that I am coming soon.’
Aideé lived for God. A tireless deaconess, woman of prayer, and student of the Bible, she had another dream the other day that she told only me, in private, with a troubled voice. She had dreamed that the church had three problems:
- We have stopped believing that Jesus is coming soon. We make long-term plans that do not contemplate the possibility of being in heaven by that time. Yes, it is true that He is apparently delaying, but that is out of love for us, so He can save us. In the meantime, He does not stop longing for us to come to repentance.
- We say we love God, but we have forgotten His commandments or have adapted them to our way of thinking. God’s commandments continue to be valid today as always, and it is even more important today that we keep them because we are the salt of the earth and the light of the world.
- We do not preach as we should. In her dream, Aideé saw some people from the church sowing the Word in various places, and it gave fruit almost immediately. However, she then saw other lands—fertile and infertile—where there was the need to work, but she saw that the church was very busy with other tasks. She suddenly heard a voice: The Bridegroom is coming.» Many were not properly dressed to go to the wedding.
With a sad voice, the heavy hearted Aideé continued telling me about what she had dreamed: They were situations we already know about, nothing unusual, although they were worrisome because of the Laodicean condition of the Lord’s church.»
Dear friend, the marriage supper of the Lamb is already being organized in heaven. God is preparing everything well ahead of time. Could you begin today, in the name of Jesus, making arrangements so that everything is right with you when He comes the second time? Remember to put on your wedding garments every day so that when the Bridegroom comes for you, He will find you properly adorned for Him.
«Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!» (Revelation 19:9).
